Astrja flopped back into her bed. It had been an exciting day, a spacewalk and getting to dig around in the guts on the main deflector dish all in one mission. Such fun! It was a shame that some of the others did not enjoy it so much. It always surprised her to run across Starfleet personnel that were not adventurous souls. Even Jalia, as staid as she was in so many things, loved the stars, the exploration and working with the technology. How could you not love being in Starfleet?

She started pulling off her clothes. “Afor!” she said, wrestling with a boot.

The hologram version of the cheerful program materialized. “Yes, Astrja. I watched the spacewalk, it must have been very exciting. I am glad no one was hurt when the power sink exploded.”

“People forget that the EVA suits are armored and have their own force fields, also, no atmosphere to propaganda shockwaves,” Astrja said. “Poor O’Conner, he was certainly startled though. I am glad he is safe.”

“I as well. Will you do more spacewalks?” asked Afor.

“As needed, it is not something you want to do everyday.”

“Because then it would become routine and not be as . . . enjoyable?” Afor ventured.

“Exactly,” said Astrja tossing her boot over join the other in her chair. “There are people at Stardock who work in space everyday and never look up at the stars. How sad is that?”

“Very,” agreed Afor. “Though I admit, I perceive this differently from you and most people. But I still have a sense of wonder and like looking at them.”

“I will have to compliment Jalia on your programming. . . again,” said Astrja. “You amazing.”

Afor bowed. “Thank you. I do my best.”

“Set my alarm to be extra loud tomorrow, Afor,” said Astrja. “I suspect it will be a deep sleep tonight,” she added through a yawn.

Afor nodded. “Done and done.”

Astraja, now completely naked, her clothes haphazardously piled up next to her boots. She yawned and stretched. “See you in the morning, Afor.”

Afor lowered the lights and said, “Sweet dreams.” And then winked out.
