Personality & Traits
General Overview | Curious, driven lust for knowledge in all forms. Passionate and invested in all her endeavors; and she invests in everything she can. General love of life, determined not to let others push her down. Myra has the calm of a diplomat, one that butt’s antennae with her natural inclination to passionate outburst. Determined and somewhat stubborn in her pursuits, she attacks every situation with the curiosity and optimism of a fresh eyed child. An insatiable love of learning mixed with an inability to be satisfied with what she does know, occasionally leads her to juggle too many projects at the same time. Which is where her fabulous organizational skills kick in. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | Myra is Andorian. Emotions are felt. The blood of warriors boils hot indeed if not controlled. Myra is loyal, brave and determined. Myra is French. Joie de vivre, well timed exuberance, passion for art and culture, love of good food, good wine and good company. Myra is an aesthetic and a foodie. Myra is the daughter of an ambassador. Patient, calm, pleasant. She was taught that words are weighed, actions planned and thoughts hidden. Myra is composed, hospitable, and a superb poker player. Myra is Buddhist. Buddha teaches that one must not pray for that which they want, but toil every day towards attaining it, if not in this life, then the next. Buddha also teaches that simplicity and peace greatly increase one's chance to attain what they desire most. Myra is hardworking, forgiving and simple in her needs. Myra is a high mind. The best schools, the best tutors, a natural inclination to learning. An apprentice of everything she can learn about, a journeyman of everything she can spend more time on, but a master of none; mastery has too high a price. Learning is a pleasure. Spending ten years becoming a biochemist, when you can spend those ten years learning about biology, chemistry, physics, vulcan music, roman architecture, riding a bike, ballet, mathematics, Taluvian brewing methods…. It seems wasteful. Myra is curious, talented and resourceful. Myra is herself. Myra is a little bit of everything above, yet the sum of it all creates a very unique individual that is more than what can be easily explained. |

Personal History | Myra was born in Paris, France. Lone daughter of the now retired Andorian ambassador to earth and his wife. She was an unexpected, but very welcome child, her parents in their late 40's when she was born. She was named after her mother's best friend, a human woman who worked at the consulate alongside her. Myra had a very privileged life. She attended the best schools France had to offer. Excelled in science and arts, and developed a taste for excellence. Always pushing herself to the limit, both physically and mentally, her parents were the ones who had to slow her down. Curious by nature, she would push and prod and break things down to pieces in an attempt to understand how everything worked. To her parents' consternation, she would often leave the targets of her interest lying around once she'd figured them out and had some other new obsession. At 16 she applied for early admission to Starfleet and to her parents dismay and pride, she was accepted. Where she had excelled before, she now flourished, having obviously found her place. It was in her third year that she would find herself involved in a very serious accident with several other classmates. Following a tactical training course, she and a few others attempted (without authorization) to modify a phaser rifle. A mistake was made, an explosion ensued. Many were injured, including Myra. A board of inquiry was formed and an investigation followed. Several of her classmates tried to lie their way out of it, and were consequently dismissed from the academy. The others refused to talk. She stepped up to the plate, taking full responsibility for the accident. Refusing to go into details, but admitting it was her fault. Her refusal to elaborate would have spelled her dismissal, were it not for her father’s still existent political pull. Following that incident, she spent her remaining time there without many friends. She graduated top 3% of her class with a double major in Physical Science and Systems Engineering. She then spent 3 months waiting on an assignment. When it finally came, it did so with a very unhappy captain. She served aboard the USS Yerelak for 6 years. First as a science officer, then an engineer, and finally ended with a stint in security. Each of those changes had closely followed a recommendation for promotion. Despite the hardship of a captain who would not recognize her abilities, she persevered. She kept an upbeat and cheerful attitude to the best of her abilities, especially towards her parents' inquiries. Even the officers who were aware of the incident at the academy came to respect her stubborn optimism. All except the captain. Then, with the first officer's help, she finally received transfer orders. She was to join the U.S.S. Athena as an operations officer. With the hope this new assignment would offer her the opportunity to prove herself, she prepared for a change of pace. |
