Physical Description Older than she looks, her Vulcan heritage kept her young and strong. Born and raised in a high-gravity semi-arid world, she had a rugged appearance and unique pointed ears that set her apart from human features. Her ears had a slant, almost a horizontal edge, but softer than those of her Vulcan ancestors. The high-gravity world, Defiance, strengthened her body with dense musculature and a strong back. During her early years in the border militia in the Triangle, her experience strengthened her muscles, bringing out a strong frontier soldier. Frontier farming in Defiance also sculpted her early growth, improving her stability and agility. Scars and hidden tattoos became her core identity, even before the Hobus supernova. Her arm tattoo displayed a fragmented map of The Triangle, a lawless sector from whence she survived. Cutting her own hazelnut chestnut hair, she wore her braided side cut over her shoulder. While her uncut, braided hair covered her soft, pointed Vulcan ears at times, she uncovered it proudly, showing her uniqueness. Her features, especially her metallic steel gray eyes, despite never cracking a smile, showed her stoic demeanor in her solid, thick five feet seven inches frame.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Kae is a hardened border militia veteran, not because of age, but because she survived more in her youth than most do in a lifetime. She lost part of her hearing during an early skirmish in the triangle to an energy implosive mine, which exploded in her vicinity and ruptured her inner eardrum. Frontier medicine could do so much, but it was limited, so her militia commander discharged her from service. That turned her bitter and angry. Eventually, she turned her anger and bluntness into independent contract work and bounty hunting. Even after joining an enlisted Starfleet training center near Starbase 23 in the Beta Quadrant, she maintained her stoic, blunt personality. Despite her abrasive, battle‑hardened attitude, she moves through Starfleet with a cold, steady presence and a moral compass forged in the gray zones of the Triangle — shaped by frontier survival. However, joining Starfleet had turned her soft, bringing out her goodness.
Strengths & Weaknesses Farm‑forged strength; capable of carrying heavy gear and surviving longer than most. Endures the harshest conditions. Field‑tech expert. Combat survival instincts. Weapons specialist. Rugged and hardened. Logical.

Stubborn. Unyielding. Abrasive, battle‑hardened attitude. Morally gray. Partially deaf due to battlefield injury. Non‑diplomatic. Blunt. Prone to instability due to stress.
Ambitions Stay useful, stay in the field, and protect the few people she trusts. She doesn’t seek rank or recognition — only purpose, stability, and a place where her skills still matter.
Hobbies & Interests Weightlifting, combat training, battlefield tech tinkering, holonovel writing, patrol-style loops to clear her head, maintaining her gear, strength-based physical routine, and quiet observations.

Her holonovel writings include frontier survival stories, tactical scenarios, and personal logs disguised as fiction.

Personal History Born on the fringes of frontier space, on a Federation colony in the Triangle, Kae T'aryn Din grew up in a quiet home with her mixed family on a farm. Due to her Vulcan genetics, she grew stronger quickly, malleable by heavy farm work that built her dense muscles. Grounded by her Vulcan-human traits, her hybrid resilience, and her survival instincts molded her dense muscles. Life in the lawless regions of the Triangle taught her how to read people, navigate unpredictable situations, and develop a natural tactical awareness. Her hybrid Vulcan physiology gave her strength and durability, and her intuition helped her sense shifts in mood and intent.

During her early teenage years around 2369, she began to recognize her ability to read a developing tactical situation and react, whether to diffuse it or escalate if the situation called for it. Over time, she refined these instincts, eventually joining a frontier border militia where her supervisor honed her combat ability and tactical readiness from a young age. She trained in weapons familiarity, small-unit tactics, readiness drills, patrol work, intel gathering, and survival skills. Assigned as a field battlefield technician, her technical skills like disarming energy-based charges and maintaining gear, assisted her team. Over the course of seven years, she grew stronger and more disciplined, aligned with maintaining order in a chaotic frontier that nearly destabilized after the Dominion War. Her strength and impressive prowess made her intimidating towards the enemy combatants.

After seven years of service in the militia patrolling the lawless Triangle sector, a battlefield injury destabilized her life. While on a routine mission, an unstable energy mine imploded, the shockwave rippling through the air not far from her location. It ruptured her hearing, crippling her. Requiring an immediate medical emergency, reduced frontier medicine availability couldn’t repair the immediate problem. They saved her life but couldn't repair her hearing, so her militia commander discharged her from service honorably.

Becoming a militia veteran, she grew bitter and drifted to mercenary work and independent contract hunting. Kae became a bounty hunter for seven years. She aligned herself under the persona Kaoshunter, solidifying her legacy as a mercenary, targeting only criminals and unstable targets. Walking the thin line between the moral gray boundary, she kept her hands clean. No unnecessary killings and most of her contract work involved subduing her targets and bringing them in alive. Eventually, after seven years of contract work, her hearing grew steadily worse. It affected her ability to do the work.

A passing Federation medic referred her to a Starfleet outpost with better medical resources. There, she received a custom auditory assistive device — a neural‑linked, bone‑conduction unit designed to work with her hybrid physiology. It restored enough functional hearing for her to return to structured work, though not enough for full correction.

In 2384, she eventually joined Starfleet through a training center near Starbase 23 in the Beta Quadrant where her frontier work existed. For up to six months, she trained as a Starfleet Tactical Reconnaissance Specialist. It used her battlefield technician expertise to pass her training. For the next several years, she followed Selya, her training officer. She led her to Vashti where they observed the world through tactical recon, humanitarian aid and basic field recon training. During those years, Kae lost weight to fit her recon gear provided by Selya.

As part of her intelligence track, she was sent to Vashti on a special academy assignment to observe the rising tensions there during 2385. Her early exposure to a vigilante group, the Fenris Rangers, left her distrustful of their structure and methods. When the Hobus star exploded in 2387, the resulting instability shattered the region's fragile order and disrupted her former border militia's operations. The militia dissolved almost overnight. In the aftermath, Kae chose to leave behind the old name tied to that life. With her skills intact and her resolve sharpened by both her militia background and Starfleet training, she stepped forward under a new identity, Kaelyn Prime.

Eventually, Selyas recommended her for a new assignment, and Starfleet assigned her to the Saber-Class USS Artemis. Serving as a Tactical Reconnaissance Specialist, she operated along the edge of the destabilized Romulan region, supporting covert Starfleet operations, monitoring political fallout, border instability, and emerging threats in the post-Hobus landscape. After five years of tactical recon duty, Starfleet reassigned her to the USS Athena as her new assistant Security and tactical officer.
